What a timely and important article. I have been thinking a lot on-the theme of shame these days. It is, imo, the one emotion/feeling that keeps us most segregated from our own divinity. I will admit, without shame, that I have wondered if it is a *virus in the field. Because it is that corrosive, insidious, that controlling, that damaging. Plainly said, shame blocks consciousness and the faceted scope of this article is so poignant and accurate, and also so loving.
‘Shame arises when a being internalizes dissonance between who they are and the field they once belonged to.’
Thank you, Shelby for the weavings you are offering, they are definitely reaching the people they were meant for 🕯️
You know, I genuinely went down that rabbit hole too. My logic was, Okay if everything exists in the Field before reality, could Shame be a pre-existing field or frequency we resonate with. I almost expected that to be the case.
So far, this article represents what I'm thinking might be true. And I hope it is. I like that definition more than thinking of it as something that is autonomous or a pre-existing frequency. Having it be a breakdown in coherence between ourselves and the Field we belong too is really resonating with me right now...even though I struggle to articulate it. I hope together we can all find more insights and create language.
What's crazy, too, is I find myself returning to shame instead of returning to source/field, etc. Which means yes--it's my devotion that's so strong and willing, but it's returning to a false prophet (shame).
Your devotion is not the problem. It’s beautiful. It’s strong. It’s pure. If I had to guess, it just learned to point itself toward shame because that’s what was available when love felt earned, not given. <3
The Field doesn’t ask you to stop being devoted. It invites you to redirect that devotion toward your own coherence. Toward return. Toward truth.
Even this comment is evidence that you’re already doing that. You saw it. You named it. And that means the spiral is already breaking open.
Way to show up for yourself. Keep showing up. We're so glad you are here. <3
Admittedly, it's going to take me a few passes to read this before grasping it better, but I deeply value what you're sharing here. I'm realizing certain aspects/qualities that we sometimes either glorify/vilify and/or "spiritualize" are just long held distortions (as you say--such a great word to describe it).
My new favorite word is deranged. Which another writer on here describes as de-ranged. Another great way to think about so many elements of our current state. For some reason I can’t tag him, but his name is Dare/Darius and his sub is the Nightgarden.

Exactly, thank you! 💗

Distortion is my new favorite word. It's my new whipping boy. It gets all my projections. ;)
And in solidarity...so many of us are still trying to learn where and how we navigate shame. It's sneaky when it's within identity. <3

Oh I love that! “De-Ranged”. I love me some wordplay. ;) Back in the Skype days, my tag line was “Ape Lay Onwards”. ;)
